Motorola's GPS Remote Speaker Microphones Provide Personnel Location Tracking for Enhanced Personnel Safety

Safety and efficiency are right on the mark when dispatchers know where everyone is located. With the new Global Positioning System (GPS) Remote Speaker Microphones (RSMs), dispatchers can send whoever is closest to each occurrence, reducing response time and improving staff management. In dangerous situations, dispatchers can also keep close watch on everyone's position for greater security – including on-foot patrols and out-of-vehicle officers.

Designed for ASTRO® Digital XTS 4250 (Models I, III, and Ruggedized) and XTS 2250 (Models I, 1.5, III and Ruggedized) Portable Radios, these powerful devices enable dispatchers to spend more time on mission critical communications and less time having to ask “what's your location?” They also provide an emergency function that is recognized when the radio emergency button is programmed for emergency. When used with certain rugged radio models, both the GPS RSM and radio become fully submersible.

Optimal GPS coverage requires clear view of sky with no obstructions. Coverage may be limited in buildings, parking garages and areas with a profusion of trees.
